About Us: Our client operates one of the most resilient, high-density colocation campuses in the UK’s premier data centre hub. As London continues to break records for hyperscale demand and enterprise cloud migration, we are expanding our engineering team to ensure 100% uptime for mission-critical facilities.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Data Centre Technician to oversee the continuous operation, maintenance, and emergency response of the critical infrastructure. You will be the first line of defence against downtime, managing complex electrical distribution and cooling systems tailored for modern high-density workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance on critical systems, including MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, diesel generators, STS, and PDU assets.
  • Manage and optimize large-scale cooling infrastructure, including chilled water systems, CRAH units, and adiabatic cooling solutions.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis (RCA) for any infrastructure anomalies or power disruptions.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, ensuring strict adherence to Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
  • Support the site's energy efficiency initiatives, tracking Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) in line with corporate sustainability targets.

What We’re Looking For:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience operating within a Tier III or Tier IV data centre environment.
  • Critical environment mindset: calm under pressure with a deep understanding of concurrent maintainability.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV switching procedures and safe systems of work.
