If you enjoy working on complex projects and have had some exposure to Data Centre or mission-critical environments, and want more ownership, better support, and a clearer progression path, this is worth a look.

We’re partnered with a growing consultancy that’s building a strong reputation in the mission-critical space. They’re expanding their team and investing heavily in their engineers.

Why this role stands out

This isn’t a role where you’re just delivering small pieces of design in isolation. You’ll be involved from early concept through to delivery, giving you real ownership and visibility across projects. There’s a strong team around you with genuine Data Centre experience, so you’ll be working alongside people who understand the complexity and pace of this space.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take a leading role in delivering electrical design across Data Centre projects, working closely with both clients and internal teams. There’s a good balance of technical delivery and project ownership, whether that’s leading full projects or taking responsibility for key packages. You’ll also have the opportunity to support and mentor junior engineers, while staying hands-on with the technical side and contributing to key design decisions.

Key requirements

  • 5–10+ years’ experience in electrical building services design
  • Some exposure to Data Centre or mission-critical projects
  • Strong understanding of UK and/or international design standards (CIBSE, BS, IEC etc.)
  • Experience using design tools such as AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech and/or Revit
  • Comfortable taking ownership of projects or key design packages
  • Confident working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Able to balance technical delivery with project deadlines
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Working towards Chartership or open to pursuing it

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £90,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working (2 days in Birmingham office)
  • 9 day working fortnight
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • 5% matched pension
  • Monthly health insurance allowance
  • Financial support for further education
  • Support towards Chartership
  • One professional subscription covered annually
  • Regular annual pay reviews and promotion opportunities
