ROLE OVERVIEW: This role is accountable for leading the PRA team responsible for access and reimbursement in the UK for Specialty & Neuroscience. The candidate must handle a group of individuals within the PRA team. Therefore, strong people management / coaching skills are required. You must be able to consider the knowledge of the external environment and the therapeutic area to devise the optimal payer strategy. The role also entails developing the strategic initiatives, payer materials, AAPs and supporting the local PRA and HTA/HO teams in their reimbursement dossier submission. The role is also accountable for successful implementation of the payer strategy, measuring the impact of the payer programs and national access targets. This is a key role in ensuring the overall market access strategy (nationally and locally) for all the brands within Specialty & Neuroscience and requires being able to work successfully within the PRA department, cross-functionally with marketing, medical, sales and with the IBU team. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Employee Engagement / Cross-functional Collaboration Align regularly with NE Hub PRA leader on PRA topics Serve as main contact for all payer-related activities in the therapeutic area Ensure payer strategy aligns with brand plan Collaborate with local VAMs and PRAs to meet local payer needs Foster cross-functional relationships and establish PRA within the UK affiliate Environmental Knowledge Anticipate payer needs and market changes affecting the Specialty & Neuroscience portfolio Understand local treatment pathways and patient journeys Provide actionable external insights to the business unit Stay informed on NHS/NICE developments Strategic Payer Planning Develop payer value proposition and strategy aligned with brand/business goals Influence forecasts and customer plans by integrating market access considerations Ensure clear communication and consistent execution of payer strategy Adjust strategy based on new insights or changes Lead pricing strategy development and implementation Team Development and Execution Coach team on HTA submissions and development of payer materials and programs Align with HO on health economic materials (e.g., BIM, D&T templates) Create tailored messages and programs for key payer segments Ensure appropriate use of payer materials Lead AAP strategy/design and coordinate with PSP, pricing, and commercial teams Maintain brand-aligned communication and support local teams in securing/maintaining access Share payer insights with Regional Business Managers to aid local market access REQUIRED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE OR SPECIFIC EXPERTISE: Strategic Execution: Turns strategy into impactful, measurable outcomes. Product Launch Expertise: Successfully leads launches with high standards and bold objectives. Market Access & NHS Knowledge: Deep understanding of access pathways and NHS structures. NHS Policy Insight: Translates policy into localised, actionable plans. ABPI Code Proficiency: Applies compliance confidently in daily work. Therapy Area Experience: 5–10 years in Specialty, Neuroscience, and/or Market Access. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong regional/national experience, especially in partnerships. Keeps PRA Leader NE Hub closely informed of UK market dynamics and developments. Engages regularly with clear, timely updates. Distils complex issues into impactful narratives.
