Business Partner – Global Commercialization of Data and Platforms
Location – Flexible across any Eli Lilly Affiliate Location (No Relocation Assistance)
Reporting to – Associate Director GCDP (Based in Spain)
The Global Commercialization of Data & Platforms Business Partners are the primary connection between all components of GCDP Teams and the local Affiliate Stakeholders. The team spans all geographies and all business units. Primary stakeholders are Hub/IBU Leadership teams (e.g., CMO & COO) and key members of Marketing, Sales, Medical, E&C, and IDS. Engagement is both strategic (e.g., product launches) and operational in nature depending on needs.
Members of the team need to understand and represent the GCDP priorities and demonstrate knowledge of all GCDP platforms (e.g., Veeva, GCCP, Vault etc.), domains (e.g., Customer, Activity, Material, & Alignment), and associated services/processes (shared services, incentives, IDS, affiliate) to the stakeholders – and appropriately represent the views and needs of the stakeholders back to the GCDP.
The team ultimately builds strong trust relationships with stakeholders through sharing / standardization of Global best practice, being the two-way single point of contact, shielding questions from the GCDP Subject Matter Experts, being aware/supportive of key deliverables, and participation in key GCDP projects.
Incumbent will work with a specific geographic focus (to be confirmed) but will always have a global mind-set. Geographic scope and GCDP activities will adapt over time as business needs dictate. Applications are welcomed from any location across the globe
Key Responsibilities
Business Integration and Partnership
- Proactive partnership with key affiliate stakeholders: ensure clear lines of dialogue, and limit surprises
- Champion the stakeholder needs and aspirations: influence the build of strategic capabilities within the GCDP
- Help stakeholders solve problems and establish best practice through sourcing SME knowledge and experience globally as needed
- Drive innovation in the Affiliates / GCDP and identify/anticipate opportunities for new solutions/capabilities/optimization/savings
- Proactively facilitate activities though connecting the dots and articulation of tangible business benefits/impact
- Assist in ensuring pull-through of services to stakeholders by ensuring up-front commitment and associated deliverables
- Champion Global prioritization model and proactively set expectations with stakeholders. Help people see the Lilly picture vs. the local
- Think End-2-end and know the external customer – be mindful of real tangible/emotional impacts of decisions/recommendations and articulate them clearly
- Lead delivery of analysis, services, and project work on time, and to specification
- Actively participate and present in appropriate governance forums
- Ensure that risks or issues are understood, communicated, and managed
- Plan & work effectively and manage multiple priorities at once
- Work in close partnership with broader GCDP, GCS (Global Commercial Services), and IDS (Information and Digital Solution) organizations
Working Globally
- Be an active contributor in the geographically distributed Global Business Partner Lead Team
- Work effectively as a member of a virtual Global Customer Operations organization, ensuring that processes are optimized, and knowledge is shared
- Understand and apply knowledge, empathy, & emotional intelligence of differing cultures, time-zones, and expectations
- Use your passion and enthusiasm to remove barriers and champion “Team-Lilly” expectations.
Required Skills/Experience
- Has a great sense of humor, willingness to have fun, and to join in socially with the team
- 2-3 years of experience in commercial, sales, marketing or medical areas
- A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and interest in innovation
- Demonstrated ability to influence (without authority) leadership as well as other strategic partners to create and drive strategic and operational initiatives.
- 1-2 years of experience leveraging standard processes and solutions to deliver maximum value
- Experience translating complex, ambiguous concepts into actionable plans
- Demonstrated leadership skills, research, communications (esp. listening), demonstrated influence, confidence to challenge, and the ability to have crucial conversations.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Project leadership / management experience inc. stakeholder management
- Ability to collaborate effectively with remotely located (virtual) teams/groups
- Strong networking, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Speak and write fluently in English – other languages are an asset
- Experience of working effectively in/with cross-functional teams
Desirable Skills/Experience
- 1-2 years of experience of working in/with global teams

- Expertise in multiple end-2-end business processes relating to Marketing and Sales
