Our client, a precision aerospace manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced CNC Machinist, to join our winning team in Newport.

Our candidate of choice will independently set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to hold tight tolerances, and make program edits at the machine as necessary. The ideal candidate is experienced in machining complex parts from materials like Inconel, Titanium, and Molybdenum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes with minimal supervision
  • Inspect and verify dimensions using precision measuring tools
  • Maintain close tolerances and surface finishes as specified on aerospace and defense components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions
  • Make program changes and offsets as needed to optimize performance
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and suggest improvements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with team members, quality, and engineering

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience (mill and/or lathe)
  • Proficient with setup, tooling selection, and inspection techniques
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Ability to make CNC program edits at the machine
  • Experience working with tight tolerances (±.0005″)
  • Knowledge of exotic materials like Inconel, Titanium, and Molybdenum preferred
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable
