- Work closely with Data Owners and Data Stewards to strengthen accountability and governance practices
- Drive consistent application of data quality, classification, access and retention requirements
- Ensure governance aligns with UK GDPR, information security and regulatory requirements
- Analyse data quality issues, identify root causes and drive preventative action
- Provide expert advice and constructive challenge on data governance risks, issues and decisions
- Coach colleagues and deliver data literacy activities to strengthen governance capability across Elexon
What you’ll bring:
- Strong experience in data governance within a complex organisation, ideally in a regulated environment
- Proven experience developing, implementing and embedding data governance policies, standards and frameworks
- Hands-on experience with enterprise data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview
- Experience supporting large programmes or projects across multiple workstreams
- Strong understanding of data quality, data lineage, metadata, data ownership and data controls
- Experience taking governance initiatives through implementation, including communications, training and adoption
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection requirements
- Experience supporting new solutions from design through to live operation
- Excellent senior stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge
- Strong analytical skills, including identifying root causes of data quality issues and driving remediation
- Experience working in Agile environments and Azure DevOps
- Experience within energy, utilities or another regulated sector (desirable)
- Knowledge of Databricks, Cosmos DB, data architecture or AI governance (desirable)
- DAMA CDMP or another professional data management qualification (desirable)
What’s in it for you:
- Salary - £70,000
- Excellent benefits including bonus, private medical insurance and generous pension scheme
- The opportunity to work within a thriving organisation which can support your growth and development
- We operate a hybrid working approach with 2 days in our London office
