Join Elexon and play a pivotal role at the heart of the GB wholesale electricity market, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data that underpins energy settlement. We’re looking for a Performance Assurance Manager (Grade 12) to join Elexon on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll support the delivery and evolution of the Performance Assurance Framework (PAF), leading the identification, monitoring, and mitigation of Settlement Risks across the industry.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage a team of analysts and advisors (up to 10), providing direction, coaching and development opportunities.
- Oversee the operational delivery of Performance Assurance Techniques (PATs) and remedial activities to mitigate Settlement Risk.
- Act as a senior advisor on the strategic direction of the Performance Assurance Framework, influencing how risks are identified and managed.
- Coordinate assurance activities to ensure they are proportionate, effective, and aligned with the future needs of the GB electricity market.
- Monitor and assess Settlement Risks through the Risk Evaluation Register (RER), ensuring the right areas of focus across industry and Elexon.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, committees, and service providers.
- Represent Elexon as a subject matter expert, contributing to and chairing industry panels and sub-committees (including PAB and TDC).
- Act as an escalation point for assurance-related issues and provide expert guidance on complex queries.
- Ensure all assurance processes are delivered in line with BSCPs, KPIs and SLAs.
- Manage third-party suppliers, budgets, and service performance, driving continuous improvement.
- Provide thought leadership on assurance best practice in response to industry and regulatory changes.
What you’ll bring:
- Deep expertise in Performance Assurance Frameworks, risk monitoring, and energy settlement processes.
- Strong understanding of BSC obligations, systems, and the wider GB electricity market.
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, and process improvement skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
- Confidence in presenting complex technical information clearly through reports and papers.
- Experience working with industry panels, committees, or governance groups.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or Power BI.
- Knowledge of the Retail Energy Code (REC) and its interaction with the BSC.
- Experience chairing industry workgroups or committees.
