We’re looking for an Enterprise Architect (Grade 13) to join the Technology function at Elexon on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll help shape and evolve Elexon’s enterprise‑wide architecture strategy, ensuring business, application, data, technology, and security architectures align with organisational objectives and future market needs. Working closely with senior stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and external delivery partners, you’ll lead the design and governance of modern, scalable, and secure technology solutions across the organisation. This is a strategic and highly technical role, focused on driving enterprise transformation, architectural governance, and long‑term technology direction within the GB electricity market.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Architecture function
  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Create and maintain current and future state architecture models across business, application, data, technology, and security domains
  • Translate business strategy and requirements into technical architecture solutions and implementation plans
  • Lead architectural reviews to ensure solutions meet functional and non‑functional requirements
  • Work with engineering and delivery teams to ensure conformance to architecture standards and designs
  • Analyse technology trends and emerging capabilities to assess their impact on enterprise architecture
  • Collaborate with project teams and governance boards to ensure alignment between projects and enterprise architecture
  • Define and support migration roadmaps from current to future‑state architectures
  • Oversee Application Portfolio Management activities and support evaluation of new technologies and systems
  • Define metrics to measure and demonstrate the value of Enterprise Architecture
  • Work closely with Solution, Data, Infrastructure, and Security Architects to evolve architecture capabilities across the organisation

What you’ll bring:

  • Significant experience working in Enterprise Architecture or senior architecture roles
  • Experience across multiple architecture domains, including business, application, data, infrastructure, or security architecture
  • Strong knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and modelling tools such as TOGAF, UML, or ArchiMate
  • Experience designing and governing cloud‑based architectures, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments
  • Strong understanding of architecture governance, standards, and operating models
  • Experience working across the full project and product lifecycle
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments
  • Experience working with system integrators, suppliers, and multi‑vendor delivery models
  • Experience within regulated environments or large‑scale transformation programmes (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the GB electricity market or settlement systems (desirable)
