Elexon was appointed as the Settlement Services Agent for the Contract for Difference (CfD), Capacity Market (CM), and Nuclear RAB (RAB) schemes. This is delivered via EMR Settlement Limited (EMRS), contracted to provide Settlement Services on behalf of the Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC for CfD and RAB) and the Electricity Settlements Company (ESC for CM). We work closely with Delivery Partners such as LCCC, ESC, EMR Delivery Body (National Grid ESO), Ofgem, and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Our customers include electricity Suppliers, CfD Generators, Capacity Providers, and Nuclear RAB Generators participating in these schemes.

Job Purpose: Settlement Operations comprises two team leads and several analysts within the Operations function, which also includes Test and Stakeholder Engagement teams. As a Settlement Analyst, you will leverage your skills to ensure operational performance and excellent customer service, managing processes critical to the success of the CFD, CM, and RAB schemes. You will also provide frontline support to stakeholders via the Settlement Services service desk.

Your responsibilities include reviewing operational processes, identifying improvements, updating Local Working Instructions (LWIs), and contributing to projects such as software releases and website updates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete daily operational tasks for timely and accurate settlement of EMR charges, including data loading, exception management, bank reconciliations, payments, invoices, and debt processing.
  • Maintain accurate EMR customer details through the registration process.
  • Manage EMR Parties Credit Cover positions by processing payments and Letters of Credit.
  • Support annual Pre-qualification Credit Cover collection activities.
  • Produce daily and monthly reports, resolving discrepancies or imbalances.
  • Assist in incident and problem management, keeping colleagues informed of operational issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service via the Service Desk, available during core hours (09:00-17:00).
  • Support Metering activities with third-party providers.
  • Update EMR Party aggregation rules and process exemption requests, including EII.
  • Contribute to audits and accreditation processes such as ISAE3402, ISO9001, and ISO27001.
Capabilities and Competencies:
  • Proven experience in a settlements role.
  • Understanding of checks and balances importance.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly.
  • Flexibility to manage a busy workload while maintaining quality.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry and Elexon/EMR Settlements.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage X3.
