Join Elexon as Portfolio Analyst: turn data into governance insight, partner across teams, and help deliver strategic change with clarity, impact, and flexible hybrid work.
We’re looking for a Portfolio Analyst (Grade 10) to join our Portfolio Services team within the Technology department at Elexon on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll support the effective management and governance of Elexon’s change portfolio, ensuring high-quality portfolio data, insightful reporting, and robust oversight of programmes, products, and strategic initiatives.
Working closely with the Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management, PMO colleagues, and delivery teams, you’ll help provide portfolio-level insights, governance assurance, and financial oversight that enable informed decision‑making and support the successful delivery of Elexon’s strategic objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Assure the quality of portfolio data, including consolidation and validation of One Plan and change portfolio data
- Produce portfolio reporting, dashboards, and insights to support governance forums and senior stakeholders
- Analyse portfolio performance, KPIs, risks, and trends to support strategic decision‑making
- Track and report on portfolio financials and investment performance
- Support portfolio governance forums, ensuring clear reporting and effective oversight of initiatives
- Conduct governance compliance reviews to ensure adherence to investment and delivery frameworks
- Provide portfolio‑level insight on cross‑product dependencies and risks, supporting mitigation activities
- Support the end‑to‑end lifecycle of change initiatives, from investment case through delivery and benefits realisation
- Deliver training and guidance on portfolio tools and practices to Product Owners and Delivery teams
- Collaborate with PMO colleagues to improve portfolio processes, reporting, and ways of working
What you’ll bring:
- Experience working in a Portfolio Analyst, PMO Analyst, or project delivery support role
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience producing portfolio reporting, dashboards, and delivery insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience using Power BI or similar data visualisation tools
- Experience supporting portfolio governance and delivery frameworks
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments (desirable)
- Knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management, P3O, SAFe, or PRINCE2 Agile frameworks (desirable)
