Join Elexon as Finance Scheme Assistant: support NCC and industry schemes, process claims and payments, maintain records, and help finance operations in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
In this role, you’ll support the administration of the Network Charge Compensation (NCC) Scheme and other industry schemes, ensuring claims, payments, and financial records are processed accurately and on time. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Scheme Administrator Lead, you’ll play an important role in supporting finance operations while providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. What you’ll do:
- Support the administration of the Network Charge Compensation (NCC) Scheme and related industry schemes
- Validate and process scheme claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed processes
- Prepare payment schedules for review and approval
- Maintain accurate scheme records, trackers, and financial documentation
- Respond to customer and supplier queries relating to scheme administration and payments
- Support the preparation of monthly expenditure reports and forecasts
- Assist with accounts payable, purchase ledger, and payment processing
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Support year-end audit activities and provide financial information where required
- Maintain and update Local Working Instructions (LWIs) and process documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvements across finance operations and scheme administration
What you’ll bring:
- Experience within a finance, finance operations, or accounts administration role
- Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy
- Experience processing payments, reconciliations, or financial transactions
- Good understanding of accounts payable or purchase ledger processes
- Strong customer service and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned activities
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop
- Studying towards an AAT qualification (desirable)
- Knowledge of the GB electricity market or regulated industries (desirable)
