We’re looking for an Energy Assurance Analyst (Grade 9) to join our Assurance team at Elexon on a permanent basis. In this important role, you’ll support the monitoring and assurance of Flexibility Market Rules Implementation, helping to identify, manage, and mitigate risks across Distribution System Operators, the National Energy System Operator, and wider market participants. Working closely with colleagues and industry stakeholders, you’ll help maintain confidence in market arrangements as the GB electricity system evolves.

What you’ll do:

  • Take ownership of Flexibility Market Rules Implementation Risks, leading their assessment, monitoring, and mitigation
  • Lead the deployment of Performance Assurance Techniques and report outcomes to internal stakeholders and external committees
  • Analyse performance and compliance data in line with agreed processes, timescales, and quality standards
  • Produce technical reports and present findings to governance and decision-making bodies
  • Provide assurance by evaluating compliance against implementation plans, standards, and governance expectations
  • Support audits and assurance reviews, including data analysis, site visits, and documentation of findings
  • Maintain Local Working Instructions (LWIs) to support consistent and robust assurance processes
  • Contribute to the development of data models and dashboards to support risk monitoring
  • Support training and knowledge-sharing on Flexibility risks and assurance techniques
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and ad hoc assurance projects

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting in formal governance settings
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical and analytical reports
  • Ability to work independently and take accountability for assigned risks or techniques
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across internal and external market participants
  • Knowledge of the GB electricity market and industry arrangements
  • Understanding of Flexibility Market Rules, Market Facilitator arrangements, or the Performance Assurance Framework (desirable)
