We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing or fabrication team. You will be responsible for producing high-quality welds on steel and aluminium components, working from technical drawings and maintaining a safe, efficient workspace.
Responsibilities
- Complete MIG welding operations on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, in line with blueprints and work instructions.
- Set up welding equipment: adjust gas flow, wire feed rate, torch angle, and weld parameters.
- Inspect welds for quality: check fusion, penetration, bead shape, and detect defects.
- Read and interpret welding symbols, engineering drawings, and production documentation.
- Prepare metal surfaces: grinding, cleaning, removing slag and contaminants.
- Ensure welding equipment is maintained, consumables replaced, and faults reported.
- Follow health & safety procedures: PPE usage, fume extraction, and machine safeguarding.
- Keep the workstation organised, support housekeeping, and dispose of waste safely.
- Liaise with fabricators, supervisors, and quality control to ensure on-time, on-spec production.
