In 2025, the business delivered 26% year-on-year growth and more than doubled its team, further strengthening its market position. NB: Relocation to Kampala, Uganda is required.

Uganda operations overview:

  • Market-leading motorcycle taxi financing business with 40,000+ financed riders, supporting income-generating mobility in a structurally underserved market.
  • High-growth consumer finance business with 100,000+ smartphones financed, expanding digital access through retail and device partnerships.
  • Loans backed by car short-to-medium-term liquidity products secured against customer’s vehicle, increasing customer lifetime value.

Main responsibilities:

  • Take full P&L ownership of Uganda operations, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop an established management team while strengthening a high-performance culture.
  • Drive operational excellence across sales, credit, operations, marketing, risk, compliance, and customer experience.
  • Identify growth opportunities through product optimization, market expansion, partnerships, and process improvements.
  • Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management in line with local requirements and Group standards.
  • Act as the primary interface between Uganda and Hub Team, ensuring alignment, transparency, and execution of Group strategy.
  • Use data and market insights to continuously improve efficiency, customer outcomes, and commercial performance.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within an established international business or a startup.
  • Strong background in financial services, fintech, mobility, consumer lending, or other fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in working with B2C products.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations, improving margins, and delivering consistent P&L results.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing managers and building succession.
  • Strategic yet hands-on mindset, with the ability to turn insights into execution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to relocate and commit to long-term leadership of the Uganda market.
