Senior Carbon Materials Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Carbon Materials Specialist to join an innovative technology business developing and commercialising advanced carbon materials.
This is a hands-on R&D position where you will play a key role in developing, characterising and scaling carbon materials for high-value applications.
The Role
- Develop routes to produce and upgrade high-value carbon materials.
- Investigate carbon activation, purification and separation methods.
- Characterise materials using techniques such as BET, XRD and SEM.
- Evaluate carbon materials for different applications.
- Optimise material and energy usage and support process development.
- Work collaboratively across chemistry and technical teams to support scale-up and production.
- Contribute to laboratory safety and good working practices.
About You
- PhD or advanced degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' post-university research experience in carbon materials or a related field.
- Strong understanding of carbon materials, their properties and production routes.
- Hands-on experience with carbon-material characterisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently within a small, multidisciplinary team
