£29,012 per annum (pro rata)

About the Service
This dedicated support service provides care for three adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex communication needs. Individuals have complex medical needs and require a high level of personal care, including moving and handling support, with one individual requiring PEG feeding.
The service is located in a peaceful rural setting, creating a rewarding working environment. Due to limited public transport access, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
The Role
As Assistant Service Manager, you will work closely with the Service Manager to help deliver a safe, empowering and high-quality service. You will play an active role in supporting and developing staff while promoting person-centred care and independence.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting and leading a positive and successful staff team
Promoting independence through positive risk-taking while maintaining safeguarding standards
Maintaining knowledge of policies, procedures and best practice guidelines
Supporting recruitment, staff development and performance management
Assisting with the day-to-day operational management of the service
Acting as Service Manager in their absence where required
Delivering direct support where needed, including personal care and complex support requirements
Working Pattern
Flexibility is essential for this role and you will be expected to work across varying shifts including:
Early shifts: 7:00am2:30pm
Late shifts: 2:30pm10:00pm
Bank holidays and weekend shifts across a seven-day rota
Participation in the on-call rota
Occasional waking night or sleep-in shifts where required
Dedicated administration time to support planning and service oversight

Experience within health and social care, ideally in a supervisory, senior support or leadership role
