About the Role
Eleven 11 Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated Year 11 and Exams Service Manager to lead and develop their Year 11 and examination provision. This is a senior, strategic role responsible for academic oversight, quality of education, and leadership of the Exams Centre, ensuring all learners are supported to achieve their qualifications and progress successfully to their next steps. You will work closely with tutors, senior leaders, commissioners, awarding bodies, families and partner agencies, combining strong educational leadership with a solution‑focused, child‑centred approach.
What our client is looking for:
- Proven educational leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of the UK curriculum and exam systems up to GCSE level.
- Experience working with young people, including those with SEND or who struggle in mainstream settings.
- Demonstrable leadership and people‑management experience, including line management.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR.
- Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills (Windows‑based systems and MIS).
- Willingness to travel as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational leadership — minimum 1 year.
- UK curriculum and GCSE exam systems — minimum 1 year.
- Working with SEND — minimum 1 year.
- Leadership and people management — minimum 1 year.
- Knowledge of exam systems and awarding body compliance — minimum 1 year.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee progress, engagement and outcomes for Year 11 learners across commissioning local authorities.
- Share regular progress updates with commissioners and stakeholders.
- Lead Year 11 provision meetings to review delivery, resolve issues and plan exam entries.
- Liaise with referrals teams regarding capacity, placements and transitions.
- Respond professionally and promptly to concerns raised by learners, parents, tutors or referrers.
- Act as senior regulatory lead for the exams centre, ensuring compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements (e.g. JCQ, Ofqual, City & Guilds).
- Oversee exam entries, security, malpractice procedures, appeals and reasonable adjustments.
- Manage exam data, registrations, results and secure handling of materials.
- Recruit, train and line‑manage the Exams Team, Invigilators and Assessors.
- Lead internal quality assurance and annual compliance reviews.
