Registered Children's Home Manager (Level 5 Qualified)

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk

Salary: £45,000- £55,000 (dependent on experience) + Bonus Scheme

Contract: Full Time | Permanent

Eleven Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and resilient leader to oversee a therapeutic children's home supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), trauma-related presentations and complex behaviours. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of care, supporting staff development and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people.

The Role

  • As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational leadership and management of the children's home, ensuring the service delivers safe, nurturing and high-quality care while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
  • Providing effective leadership and direction to the residential care team.
  • Creating a positive, child-centred culture focused on achieving meaningful outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding procedures.
  • Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes in education, wellbeing, independence and personal development.
  • Managing staffing structures, rotas, supervision and performance management processes.
  • Overseeing budgets and ensuring effective operational management.
  • Developing positive relationships with local authorities, families and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Leading quality assurance initiatives and continuous service improvement.
  • Managing and preparing for Ofsted inspections.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Previous experience within residential children's services at management or senior level.
  • Strong understanding of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Experience leading and developing teams within residential settings.
  • Excellent safeguarding knowledge and practice.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable:
  • Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager.
  • Experience supporting children with ASC, SEMH needs, trauma or complex behavioural presentations.
  • Understanding of therapeutic and relationship-based care models.
  • Experience working within specialist or therapeutic residential environments.
