Eleven 11 Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an Assistant Service Manager opportunity based at Birchington-on-Sea.
Full Time – Supported Living £29,012 per annum (pro rata) + £1,200 Complexity Enhancement per annum.
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Assistant Service Manager with a passion for delivering outstanding person-centred support. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social care professional who enjoys leading by example and supporting individuals with complex needs to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
About the Service
This supported living service provides tailored support for three adults with learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviour. The service focuses on promoting independence, wellbeing, and individual choice while ensuring the right level of support is provided in a safe and compassionate environment.
The successful candidate will understand the importance of building positive relationships, providing consistent support, and promoting high-quality outcomes for individuals with varying needs.
The Role
As Assistant Service Manager, you will work alongside the Service Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of the service while maintaining high standards of care and operational delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and leading a positive and motivated staff team
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred support
- Supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern using positive approaches
- Promoting independence while ensuring safeguarding and best practice standards are maintained
- Supporting recruitment, staff supervision, and development
- Assisting with service compliance and operational responsibilities
- Acting as Service Manager in their absence where required
- Providing direct support where needed, including personal care and day-to-day support requirements
Working Pattern
Flexibility is essential for this role and applicants should be able to work across a varied rota which may include:
- Early and late shifts
- Weekend and bank holiday working
- Participation in an on-call rota where required
- Occasional sleep-in or waking night duties where necessary
- Dedicated administration time to support operational responsibilities

Requirements
- Experience within health and social care, ideally within a supervisory or senior support position
