Join us as a Lift and Escalators Service Engineer - Glasgow/West. We are currently recruiting for a Lift and Escalators Service Engineer to join our team to cover Glasgow/West. They will also oversee improvement of equipment condition to improve the time between technical call-backs and reduce lift and escalator equipment downtime. Works will also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components.
Your main responsibilities:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance regimes on portfolio lift/escalator equipment.
- Completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open non-conformity to current legislation or standards.
- Overseeing improvement of equipment condition to improve the time between technical call-backs and reduce lift equipment downtime.
- Minor repair work and lifecycle replacement of components.
- Adhering to all company safety and conduct procedures.
- Providing coverage by an 'on call' rota for out of hours calls, maintenance and repairs.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components.
- Rectifying and reducing faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown.
- Checking the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance.
- Carrying out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures.
- Reinstating lift/escalator and completing service documentation.
- Carrying out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures.
- Conducting site surveys and attending all relevant training sessions.
- Working in accordance with the Company’s Safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Contributing to the Company safety objectives.
What you bring:
- Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/Maintenance/Repairs preferred.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
- Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3.
- Red Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies.
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
- Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors).
- Manual dexterity.
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good administration skills and punctuality.
- Full UK driving License.
