Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working with a well-established specialist engineering business, operating in the naval and industrial sectors, as they look to appoint a new Head of Finance. The position itself is the senior finance seat on site. You will lead a small team of three, own the monthly management accounts, keep controls and compliance in good shape (SOX included), and act as the main link between the UK operation and its US-based parent, a growing international group with a public listing in its sights.
The finance function is already in good order, so this is not a recovery mission. What the business wants is someone who takes real ownership, keeps standards high, and looks for ways to do things better over time without trying to reinvent everything on day one.
The culture is worth mentioning too. People tend to stay here, which tells you something. Teams are stable, the environment is collaborative, and the expectation is that the Head of Finance is a visible, approachable presence in the business rather than someone who keeps themselves to themselves.
