The business
The organisation is a well established education provider with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement and community impact. It is going through a period of strategic development and requires an interim Head of Finance who can support short term stability whilst permanent recruitment is completed.
The role
- Lead Finance, Payroll and Procurement activity and ensure all regulatory and reporting requirements are met
- Coordinate budgeting and the three year financial plan as part of the wider business planning cycle
- Maintain a strong internal control framework and drive improvements across financial and payroll processes
- Oversee financial transactions, treasury management, fixed assets and project support
- Lead procurement activity and ensure value for money and compliance with relevant public sector rules
- Provide accurate financial information, management accounts and forecasts to support effective decision making
The person
- Proven leadership experience within a senior finance role
- Strong technical background in financial reporting, planning and controls
- Clear experience in procurement and contract management within a regulated environment
- Ability to analyse complex data and present clear insight to senior leaders
- Confident communicator who can support non finance managers with budgeting and commercial decisions
- Professional qualification in accountancy or equivalent experience
