A leading engineering fabrication organisation is looking to appoint a Proposals Engineer. Based in Scunthorpe, this is a varied role combining proposals, internal communication, procurement, and workshop support. You will respond to customer enquiries, prepare and cost proposals, and manage orders from initial enquiry through to successful delivery. The role works closely with the Technical Buyer/Estimator, Operations Manager, and workshop team to ensure projects run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quotations and proposals using MS Office and SAP
- Complete estimate costing sheets and approval processes
- Monitor and report on workshop jobs, site work, and spares orders
- Develop project plans and liaise with customers on progress
- Maintain enquiry register and CRM system
- Process customer orders and electronic job packs
- Provide day-to-day manufacturing and technical workshop support
- Obtain and negotiate supplier pricing
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience within a fabrication workshop environment
- Commercial awareness and proposals experience either in a standalone role or as part of a wider position
- Ability to prioritise within a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate
