Elevation Recruitment Group have a strong opportunity for someone looking to build a career in in-house tax within a growing international business. This is a hands-on Tax Assistant role where you'll gain exposure across VAT, corporation tax, and wider group tax compliance from day one, initially on a 6-9 month fixed term contract, to assist the business during a busy period of expansion.

Working closely with the Head of Tax, you'll support the day-to-day tax operations across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group – ideal if you want broad exposure rather than being stuck in one narrow specialism. The Tax Assistant will support across a range of tax areas, including:
- Preparation and submission of UK VAT returns, including reconciliations and MTD processes
- Supporting EU VAT compliance via external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions
- Assisting with UK corporation tax computations and group reporting packs
- Supporting CIS compliance and subcontractor verification processes
- Helping maintain tax compliance calendars and deadlines across the group
- Assisting with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany records
- Dealing with HMRC correspondence and supporting responses where required
- Providing day-to-day tax support to the wider finance team
Key Skills & Experience required:
- Part-qualified or studying (ATT / ACA / ACCA / CTA), or a strong graduate with a real interest in tax
- Some exposure to VAT or corporate tax (study or work experience)
- Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with financial data
- High attention to detail and a structured approach to work
