Elevations Design & Project division are supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire who, due to continued growth, are seeking a Junior Design Engineer / CAD Technician to join their dynamic design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to develop their design skills within a supportive engineering environment. You’ll be involved in producing 3D models and manufacturing drawings, while working closely with experienced engineers to deliver practical and cost-effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in modifying and updating existing designs in line with project requirements
  • Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
  • Support senior engineers and project teams in developing design solutions
  • Help produce BOMs, assembly drawings, and technical documentation
  • Provide basic support to production and fabrication teams with design queries
  • Ensure drawings and models follow company standards and procedures
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities across design and production

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Some experience in a design, CAD, or engineering environment (placement year or internship considered)
  • Exposure to Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
  • HNC/HND, Degree, or currently studying Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
