We are supporting a leading UK financial institution in the appointment of a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their Commercial Operations function. This is a senior, autonomous role for an experienced public procurement professional who can confidently design, lead, and deliver complex, above‑threshold procurement activity while acting as a trusted commercial adviser to senior stakeholders.
Reporting to the Commercial & Procurement Director, you will be a subject matter expert responsible for managing high‑value, complex procurements across a diverse pipeline, ensuring full compliance with UK public procurement legislation while delivering best value and long‑term commercial outcomes for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver complex, above‑threshold public procurement processes from strategy through to contract award and mobilisation
- Design and implement commercially robust, compliant procurement strategies that deliver best value
- Undertake commercial options appraisals and provide clear, evidence‑based recommendations to senior leadership
- Lead pre‑market engagement activities and shape effective routes to market
- Provide expert commercial and procurement advice, challenge specifications, and influence commercial models
- Develop high‑quality tender documentation, including evaluation criteria, social value, ESG, and supplier assurance requirements
- Build and manage complex evaluation models and lead evaluation and moderation processes
Skills & Experience Required:
- Extensive experience leading large, complex, multi‑vendor public procurements at or above threshold
- Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK public procurement legislation and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic commercial procurement strategies
- Significant experience in professional services procurement
- Confidence advising, influencing, and challenging senior leadership stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide robust, value‑focused advice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues
- Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior colleagues
