A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to join its UK team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for all assigned product categories, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and supply continuity. The role combines strategic sourcing with supplier management, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring to support a high-performing supply chain.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to meet quality and sustainability requirements
- Lead contract negotiations and establish pricing agreements
- Analyse market trends, supply risks, and cost drivers; Manage supplier performance, reporting on quality, delivery, cost, and innovation via Canea
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and finance teams
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, and company Health & Safety and Environmental policies
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial, procurement, or commodity management role
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience in supplier relationship management and risk management
- Cost analysis and financial acumen
- Data analysis experience (ERP/MRP systems preferred)
- Project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Knowledge of automotive industry requirements (desirable)
