Elevation recruitment are supporting a market leading manufacturing business based in Rotherham as they look to grow their design team in 2025. As a Junior/Graduate Lab/Testing/Design Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting a team of project engineers by contributing to the development of new products and improving the quality and performance of existing ones. You will be involved throughout the product development cycle, ensuring innovative, efficient, and manufacturable designs that align with project goals and company standards. This role will really suit an ambitious junior engineer looking to develop their career, become an expert in this field and grow with the wider business personally.

  • Lead and contribute to the engineering and design of new product development projects, ensuring compatibility with existing manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support the design process, including validation and testing activities, to meet defined project timelines and deliverables.
  • Utilize and maintain documentation aligned with the NPD (New Product Development) framework, including tools such as DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Take ownership of your own professional development in coordination with the Senior Design Engineer or Engineering Manager.
  • Proficient in project planning, control, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in testing, equipment testing, lab work and/or 2D/3D design tools would be really beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (preferred), HND/HNC etc also considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
