About the Role:

As Purchasing Manager, you will lead and optimise the procurement lifecycle, from supplier selection through to contract management and inventory control. You will use data-driven insights to inform purchasing decisions, mitigate risk, and support long-term business objectives. Working closely with operations, finance, and senior management, you will ensure the organisation secures the right goods and services at the best value, on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan to secure high-quality suppliers and achieve cost savings.
  • Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and relationship management to improve performance, reliability, and service levels.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimise commercial outcomes and manage risk.
  • Oversee procurement planning to ensure materials and services are available in line with production and operational requirements.
  • Manage inventory levels, including setting reorder points and safety stocks, to balance availability and working capital.
  • Use data analysis and reporting to monitor purchasing performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing activities with budgets, forecasts, and project timelines.
  • Implement and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and consistency.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Purchasing Manager or senior procurement role within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong track record in strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • Demonstrable experience in contract negotiation and managing commercial agreements.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting to support purchasing decisions.
  • Solid understanding of procurement planning and end-to-end purchasing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management and stock control.
  • Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems, as well as MS Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience implementing or improving procurement systems and tools.

Qualifications:
