Elevation Recruitment are supporting a well-established engineering business in the plastics manufacturing sector who are looking to bring in a Junior Production / Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team. This is a hands‑on, varied role where you’ll be involved in taking products from concept through to production, helping to improve how things are made, and supporting continuous improvement across the shop floor.
You’ll be working closely with both engineering and production teams, using SolidWorks to support DFM activities, and getting involved in practical problem‑solving, process improvement, and the development of tooling such as jigs and fixtures. It’s a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys understanding how things work, likes being hands‑on, and wants to develop within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the development of manufacturing processes from concept to production
- Using SolidWorks to adapt and refine designs for manufacturability
- Assisting with production improvements and Lean initiatives
- Working on jigs, fixtures, and process optimisation
- Supporting troubleshooting between engineering and production teams
- Contributing to BOMs, SOPs, and general production documentation
What we’re looking for:
- Apprentice‑trained or qualified to ONC / HNC level (or equivalent experience)
- Some experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- SolidWorks or 3D CAD experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- A hands‑on mindset
- Any exposure to fabrication, machining, or similar environments would be beneficial
