In this Product Manager role you won’t be expected to sell a pre-existing portfolio but to tap into potential markets to grow out a new portfolio. You will drive product sales by using strong leadership, technical knowledge, and business acumen. This involves analysing market trends, understanding customer needs, assessing competitors, and creating effective product roadmaps and pricing strategies to boost revenue and margin growth in existing and newly created products.
The role will interface regularly with R&D, engineering, sales, supply chain, finance and operations.
Responsibilities
- Explore and open new markets to expand business opportunities.
- Develop product strategy and optimise the product portfolio, including planning and project prioritisation.
- Oversee the development of actionable product roadmaps by integrating inputs from cross-functional stakeholders in line with business objectives and product strategy.
- Manage product positioning in the marketplace, including rationalising pricing strategy based on market conditions.
- Own the pricing strategy throughout the product lifecycle.
- Own the balanced scorecard for the product line, driving the development and execution of the roadmap for improvement.
- Address operational issues related to quality, delivery, and production.
- Anticipate and communicate issues, recommend corrective actions, and take independent remedial actions while reporting outcomes.
- Ownership of customer agreements, LTAs and material pass through clauses.
- Ensuring sales pipeline is always active.
- Maintain and promote Values and Behaviours.

- Revenue Growth: Increase in sales revenue generated by the product.
- Profitability: Gross margin and net profit generated by the product.
- Achievement of sales targets and quotas.
- Market Share: Growth in market share for the product compared to competitors.
- Penetration in new markets.

- Customer Acquisition and Retention: Number of new customers acquired. Customer retention rate and churn rate.
- On-time delivery of new products or features. Achievement of launch milestones and timelines.
- Customer Satisfaction: OTIF Number of customer complaints and resolution times.
- Market and Competitive Analysis:
- Go-to-market strategy and product roadmap ownership for assigned markets and products.
- Market size and segmentation analysis. Support the development and maintenance of market quantification models, sources for market data and a system to track market size and its changes over time.
- Customer needs analysis and voice-of-customer feedback.
- Driving pipeline growth by working closely with sales teams.
- Strategic annual short term and long-range market planning to maximise growth.
- Generate deliverables to support strategic decision-making processes with respect to organic as well as inorganic growth.
- Support the development and maintenance of a systemic approach to competitive intelligence.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritise legislative, competitive, and technical discontinuities and their impact, generating insight around opportunities or threats.
- Generate growth through collaboration of cross-functional teams (including R&D, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain & Operations)
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA highly preferred.
- 7-10 years Product Management or equivalent experience.
- Experience with a technical product line required with a B-to-B technical product line preferred.
- Proven experience rationalising a product line while growing top and bottom line preferred.
- May or may not manage or supervisor other Product Managers.
