At Elevation Recruitment Group, we’re working with a well-established business in the steel sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Steel Sales Representative to join their team in Matlock. This is a great opportunity for someone with steel or metal sales experience who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and working in a fast-moving environment.
As a Steel Sales Representative, you’ll play a key role in developing new business while managing and growing existing customer relationships. You’ll be selling a wide range of mild steel products to customers across construction, fabrication, engineering, and manufacturing sectors. This role would suit someone commercially minded, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of a wider team.

Responsibilities of a Sales Representative:
- Building and developing relationships with new and existing customers
- Promoting and selling mild steel products including sheets, plates, beams, angles, channels, hollow sections, and tubes
- Identifying new opportunities across construction, engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing sectors
- Preparing quotations, negotiating prices, and closing deals
- Providing product advice and guidance where required
- Working towards monthly and annual sales targets
- Coordinating with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth order delivery
- Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor activity
- Maintaining accurate sales records and updating CRM systems
- Attending customer meetings, site visits, and industry events when needed
Requirements of a Sales Representative:
- Previous experience in steel or metal sales preferred
- Good knowledge of steel products
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build lasting customer relationships
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the market
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Strong organisation and time management skills
