We are working with a well-established steel manufacturer in Chesterfield to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering function, playing a key role in both hands-on maintenance and team leadership.

The Role

This is a combination of hands-on engineering and leadership, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the tools while also developing and leading a team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a small team of Maintenance Engineers
  • Leading day-to-day maintenance activities across the site
  • Ordering spare parts and managing inventory
  • Project managing engineering improvements and maintenance initiatives
  • Organising statutory inspections and ensuring compliance
  • Managing external contractors on-site
  • Raising purchase orders and controlling maintenance spend
  • Driving and maintaining high standards of health & safety
  • Supporting and developing the use of the CMMS system

The Candidate

We are open to Maintenance Engineers looking for a step up. Ideal background:

  • Experience within heavy engineering, steel, or precision manufacturing environments
  • Either electrical or mechanical bias considered
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on engineering with team leadership
  • Experience with CMMS systems would be advantageous
