This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and driven procurement professional to join a thriving organisation at a key stage in its growth journey. The successful candidate will take ownership of the purchasing strategy, supplier relationships, and cost-optimisation activities across a broad range of engineering and industrial materials.
The Role
- Lead all procurement activities across the site, ensuring materials and services are delivered on time, to specification, and within budget.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and finance teams to drive strategic sourcing initiatives, continuous improvement, and supplier performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing the site purchasing strategy in line with business objectives.
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts to achieve best value.
- Leading cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives.
- Identifying and implementing supply chain improvements.
- Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Supporting new product introduction projects from a procurement perspective.
- Managing and mentoring a small procurement team.
About You
- Proven experience in a Purchasing or Procurement Manager role within an engineering or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical understanding of engineered components, materials, and supply chains.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier-management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality, and risk.
- Experience implementing purchasing systems, processes, and performance metrics.
- CIPS qualification (desirable but not essential).
