An established and growing manufacturer is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement operations across a key site location. This role will oversee both direct and indirect purchasing activity, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the efficient delivery of materials, products, and services to support business growth and operational performance.
You will play a key role in driving cost savings, improving supplier performance, reducing supply chain risk, and aligning procurement strategy with wider business objectives. Key Responsibilities:- Lead, develop, and mentor the Procurement Team, setting clear objectives and supporting training plans.
- Manage procurement activities across direct and indirect spend categories.
- Source, negotiate with, and onboard new and existing suppliers.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with operational needs and company policies.
- Deliver annual cost savings, improve cash conversion, and negotiate favourable payment terms.
- Strengthen supply chain resilience through framework agreements and continuity planning.
- Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost, and delivery KPIs.
- Ensure effective use of MRP systems, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and exception management.
- Support S&OP processes, balancing supply capabilities with customer demand.
- Monitor stock levels, raw material availability, and inventory performance metrics.
- Produce regular reports on spend, savings, supplier performance, and procurement KPIs.
- Proven experience in a procurement leadership or senior buying role.
- CIPS membership or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Strong commercial awareness and contractual negotiation skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrable success in delivering cost savings and achieving performance targets.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient IT skills, including MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office packages.
- Full UK driving licence required.
