Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering exclusively with a well-established engineering business in Leeds, which is looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team.

This role will suit someone who comes from an engineering/technical manufacturing background, who has previously worked with technical drawings, and can lead a small team to drive efficiencies and processes.

Working Hours / Benefits:

  • 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with a 1pm finish every Friday!

The Role:

  • Overseeing procurement across bought-out components, electrical items, and subcontracted services
  • Leading supplier relationships and acting as the primary escalation point for supplier issues
  • Identifying and reporting cost-saving opportunities
  • Allocating workload across the team and supporting, mentoring, and developing the Buyers
  • Developing and implementing standardised purchasing processes and controls
  • Acting as the key point of contact between Purchasing and internal functions, including Production, Stores, Design Engineering, and Accounts

The Person:

  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within an engineering/technical manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Strong supplier negotiation skills and a track record of delivering cost savings
  • The ability to develop and implement purchasing processes and drive compliance
  • A clear and proactive communication style, able to engage stakeholders at all levels
