The Opportunity

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing Yorkshire-based manufacturing business in the search for a Credit Controller to join their finance team.

This is a standalone Credit Control position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the sales ledger function and play a key role in supporting cash flow, customer account management, and the ongoing development of credit control processes within a fast-paced operational environment.

The business supplies a range of high-profile customers across the retail, wholesale, and commercial sectors and is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Proactively chasing outstanding debt via telephone and email.
• Monitoring aged debt and ensuring timely collection of payments.
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries, deductions, pricing disputes, and account discrepancies.
• Allocating customer receipts and maintaining accurate sales ledger records.
• Reconciling customer accounts and resolving variances.
• Producing aged debt reports and providing updates to management.
• Supporting month-end debtor reporting and account reconciliations.
• Working closely with Commercial, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve account issues.
• Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and procedures.
• Building strong relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders.

About You

• Previous experience within a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable position is essential.
• Comfortable managing your own ledger and working independently.
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, wholesale, distribution, or a high-volume transactional environment would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confident managing difficult conversations and escalating overdue accounts when required.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused in your approach.
