Overview
Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with NerG Ltd to appoint a Head of Business Development. This is a key role driving growth across renewable energy projects in the farming and commercial sectors.
We’re looking for a sales leader with strong consultative skills and a natural ability to build credibility with farmers, landowners, and commercial operators. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on building trust, understanding customer challenges, and presenting clear, compelling technical and financial solutions.
The Role
- Driving sales of renewable energy systems (solar PV, biomass) into farms, estates, and agri-businesses, as well as commercial clients.
 - Expanding our servicing and maintenance contracts to strengthen long-term customer relationships.
 - Delivering expert, consultative advice tailored to the financial and operational needs of agricultural businesses.
 - Leading, coaching, and motivating your team to achieve ambitious but realistic growth targets.
 
About You
We’re looking for a sales leader with strong consultative skills and a natural ability to build credibility with farmers, landowners, and commercial operators. Ideally you will:
- Have a proven track record in B2B consultative sales of technical products or solutions, ideally within agriculture, land-based industries, or energy.
 - Bring excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to listen, understand client needs, and translate them into tailored solutions.
 - Be confident presenting ROI models, payback periods, and funding options.
 - Understand the decision-making process in farming businesses (family farms, estates, agri-corporates) and how to build long-term partnerships.
 - Have leadership experience or the drive to step into team management.
 - Be commercially astute, with the ability to balance quick wins with sustainable growth.
 - Be comfortable using Hubspot CRM (or similar) to track leads, client engagement, and performance metrics.
 - Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel extensively across the region.
