Job Description
Group Financial Controller – Sheffield – Hybrid (2 days p/w in the office)
Are you a technically strong finance professional with a passion for accuracy, attention to detail, and high-quality reporting?
Elevation Senior Finance are looking for a Group Financial Controller who will be responsible for delivering robust financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across this successful Group in Sheffield.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of financial accounting, management accounts consolidation, and statutory reporting for the Group, ensuring accurate and timely management information is delivered to senior leadership.This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll combine technical accounting expertise with strong communication skills — collaborating across UK and European operations and working closely with external auditors and advisors.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit consolidated Group Management Accounts and reports

Lead on consolidation of forecasts, budgets, and strategic financial models

Produce accurate statutory accounts for the Group and its UK and Irish subsidiaries

Oversee the accounting function for 2 international operations, providing insightful analysis to senior management

Ensure compliance with accounting standards (FRS 102) and act as the in-house technical expert

Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders

Support on direct and indirect taxation, including corporation tax computations

Manage payroll and purchase ledger payments across the Group

Safeguard business assets through effective control and authorisation procedures

Manage and develop a team of 2 Accountants
To be successful in this role you will need to be a qualified accountant (ideally ACA or ACCA) with excellent technical accounting skills and proven experience in preparing consolidated financial statements and management reports. You’ll be highly organised, analytical, and confident communicating across all levels of the business.
