Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be exclusively partnered with a respected manufacturer in West Yorkshire, who are seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead the site’s safety, wellbeing, and sustainability agenda.
This is a pivotal leadership role — ideal for a forward-thinking professional eager to drive world-class standards in Health, Safety, and Environmental performance, while playing a key part in the company’s journey toward carbon net zero.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and advise the Senior Leadership Team on all aspects of health, safety, welfare, and environmental compliance.
- Coordinate and monitor HSE activities across site, ensuring compliance with current legislation and industry best practice.
- Drive a positive, engaging safety culture that empowers colleagues to take ownership of health and wellbeing.
- Manage key risk and compliance areas including noise, dust, COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER, and PSSR.
- Work closely with the Process Safety Champion to build the understanding of process safety risk (PHR, LOPA, HAZOP) and assurance of the control measures to deliver risk to ALARP.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Coach, mentor, and support line managers to develop proactive safety leadership.
- Lead the Carbon Net Zero Work Group, reporting on Scope 1 & 2 emissions and maintaining Climate Change Levy compliance.
About You:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or working toward) and NEBOSH Environmental Certificate.
- Proven experience as an HSE Manager within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of process safety, risk assessment, and control of work systems.
- Excellent communicator and coach — capable of inspiring accountability and care at every level.
- Understanding of process safety and associated key risk management activities
- Confident using Microsoft Office and modern HSE reporting systems.
