A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced resilience, business continuity or operational risk professional to join a leading retail and financial services business during an exciting period of growth and transformation. This is a highly visible role where you’ll partner closely with senior business leaders, helping shape resilience strategy across the retail division while leading a small but high-performing team.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Retail Resilience, you’ll take ownership of the Retail Operational Resilience and Business Continuity frameworks, ensuring the business is prepared to respond effectively to disruption, incidents and supplier-related risks. You’ll work closely with executive committees, key stakeholders and third-party suppliers to identify vulnerabilities, develop resilience strategies and strengthen operational readiness across the organisation. This role will also lead and develop a team of 2 Analysts, making people leadership, coaching and stakeholder management a key part of the position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Retail Operational Resilience and Business Continuity procedures
  • Develop and maintain resilience strategies, testing cycles and response playbooks
  • Own and enhance the local third-party supplier resilience framework
  • Partner with senior stakeholders and executive committees to communicate resilience outcomes and risk
  • Support the response to complex and impactful business incidents
  • Drive governance and process improvements across resilience activities
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Resilience Analysts through an evolving business environment
  • Work closely with Group Resilience teams to ensure alignment with wider business standards and strategy

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background within operational resilience, business continuity, third-party risk or related disciplines
  • Previous people management and team leadership experience
  • Comfortable influencing and communicating with senior stakeholders and leadership forums
  • Experience building resilience frameworks, continuity plans and incident response strategies
  • Strong understanding of supplier or outsourced service models would be advantageous
  • Experience within retail, hospitality, financial services or other regulated environments would be beneficial
  • Exposure to FCA/PRA operational resilience regulations is desirable but not essential
  • Professional qualifications such as CBCI/MBCI would be advantageous
