Elevation Tech & Transformation are exclusively recruiting an experienced Backend Umbraco Developer for a well-established logistics and distribution business based in Doncaster. This is a hands-on development role with real ownership. You will sit at the heart of the company’s digital estate, shaping and maintaining a growing Umbraco-based website ecosystem while acting as the key technical link to an external Umbraco agency. If you enjoy building robust backend solutions, improving digital platforms that genuinely impact the business, and being trusted to take the lead, this role has your name on it.
Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining and enhancing Umbraco CMS solutions
- Owning backend development using C# and ASP.NET Core, with a focus on clean, scalable, well-documented code
- Managing and collaborating with an external Umbraco agency, setting priorities and ensuring quality delivery
- Working with SQL Server to ensure secure and accurate data and content management
- Troubleshooting issues, improving performance and optimising stability, security and speed
- Working closely with marketing, IT and operational teams to ensure digital platforms support customer experience, product visibility and brand presence
- Supporting deployments, testing cycles and version control best practices
Qualifications
- Strong commercial experience with Umbraco CMS (v10+)
- Solid backend development skills in C# and .NET / .NET Core
- Experience working with SQL Server
- Confidence managing and holding external agencies to account
- A problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
- Experience using Git or similar version control tools
Nice to have
- Azure or AWS hosting and cloud deployment experience
- CI/CD exposure (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar)
- Integration experience with ERP, CRM or warehouse management systems
- API integrations such as product feeds, search or ecommerce
- Understanding of UX, accessibility, performance and SEO best practice
