For Companies Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be working on behalf of a long-standing Oil & Gas business to recruit a skilled Deep Hole Borer Machinist to join their team in Sheffield.
Location: Sheffield
Shift Pattern: Days (Mon - Fri) 6.00am-2.30pm / Nights (Mon-Thurs) 06.00pm - 04.00am
Salary: Competitive DOE
Responsibilities:
- Set and operate deep hole boring machines to produce high-precision components
- Work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
- Use precision measuring tools to ensure components meet tight tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance and fault-finding on machinery
- Adhere to health & safety and quality standards at all times
- Communicate effectively with engineering and production teams to support continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Proven experience in deep hole boring and precision machining
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and measurement equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience with CNC machining and programming (advantageous)
