Elevation Recruitment are working in partnership with a long‑standing engineering business based in Sheffield, who supply precision machined components to recruit a Skilled CNC Machinist.

CNC Setter Programmer – Heidenhain / 5 Axis Milling

Up to £35,000 including shift allowance
Shift: Mornings & Afternoons
Rotherham – Permanent

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating 5-axis milling machines using Heidenhain controls
• Working to tight tolerances, reading from technical drawings
• Supporting continuous improvement in a clean, fast‑paced production environment
• Occasional turning work using Fanuc‑controlled lathes (desirable but not essential)

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming and setting 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Strong understanding of Heidenhain control systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
• Confident working to tight tolerances and production deadlines
• Either apprentice‑trained or minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills and team mentality
• Comfortable using IT systems and interpreting works orders
• Able to use initiative and work independently when required
• Non‑contractual performance‑related bonus
