Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business in Sheffield to support the growth of their engineering team with the addition of a CAD/CAM Programmer. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Take ownership of the manufacturing process from concept through to production
  • Lead and manage multiple engineering projects and provide early risk identification
  • Represent Engineering in daily operations meetings and drive actionable solutions
  • Provide cost estimates and technical input for quotations
  • Use CAM software (Hypermill, MasterCam) to program multi-axis CNC machines
  • Design fixtures and tooling using CAD software (ideally Siemens NX)
  • Create in-process documentation and ensure technical accuracy of prints
  • Continuously improve machining processes to reduce cycle times and costs
  • Troubleshoot production issues using 8D or DMAIC methodologies
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality, Planning, Production, and Customer teams

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong CNC programming and machining background
  • CAM software experience: Hypermill, Mastercam, or Vericut
  • CAD design experience, preferably Siemens NX
  • Proficient in GD&T and interpreting technical drawings
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Confident using ERP systems (BOMs, routings, item masters)
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Desirable:

  • Industry experience in aerospace and/or orthopaedics
  • Knowledge of process capability and measurement systems
  • Skilled in cost estimating and project tracking

Qualifications:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years in a similar role
