Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Lancashire to recruit a Shift Production Lead to lead a fast-paced, high-volume production area. This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for day-to-day operations, driving safe, efficient and high-quality output while developing high-performing teams and embedding a strong Continuous Improvement culture.
Reporting into senior operations leadership, you’ll be accountable for performance across your production area, delivering against safety, quality, cost and service targets.
Key responsibilities:- Championing a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with H&S standards, PPE and 6S
- Leading, coaching and developing Group Leaders and operators to drive engagement and capability
- Delivering production plans in line with output, efficiency and service targets
- Driving Lean and CI initiatives to improve flow, reduce waste and increase performance
- Ensuring right-first-time manufacturing through standard work and visual management
- Monitoring equipment and process performance, identifying constraints and reducing downtime
- Controlling area-level costs, reducing scrap, rework and material losses
You’ll be a hands-on Team Leader with a proven track record in high-volume environments.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership or supervisory role
- Technical and mechanical understanding of high-speed, high-volume processes
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, CI and 6S
- Experience with structured problem-solving and root cause analysis
- A strong focus on safety, quality and operational discipline
- The ability to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure
- Clear communication skills with confidence engaging at all levels
