Elevation Recruitment Group are partnering with a well-established FMCG manufacturer to recruit an experienced Packaging Development Manager to join a fast-paced and highly collaborative technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in packaging development within food, beverage or wider consumer goods manufacturing, looking to play a key role across innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement projects.
The role will focus on delivering packaging solutions from concept through to factory implementation, working closely with Production, Engineering, Technical, Procurement and Commercial teams, as well as external suppliers and customers.
Key responsibilities:- Lead packaging development projects across a varied product portfolio
- Manage packaging trials and first production runs within manufacturing environments
- Drive cost-saving, optimisation and sustainability initiatives
- Develop and approve packaging specifications and materials
- Work closely with suppliers on new concepts, tooling and packaging innovations
- Provide technical packaging support to operational teams
- Support continuous improvement across packaging formats, palletisation and supply chain efficiencies
- Ensure packaging complies with relevant legislation and quality standards
- Experience within packaging development in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, specifications and manufacturing processes
- Experience delivering projects from concept through to implementation
- Ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and commercial stakeholders
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Packaging Technology, Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline preferred
