Elevation Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a growing organisation in their search for an Accounts Assistant to join an established and supportive finance team (team of 3). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a solid grounding in transactional finance who is looking to further develop their skills. AAT study support is available following successful completion of probation, making this a great role for someone keen to progress their career.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day finance operations, with a strong focus on the sales ledger and credit control, while also assisting across the wider finance function. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing sales ledger activities, including credit control, raising invoices, and allocating payments
- Supporting month-end processes such as ledger reconciliations and postings
- Processing expense claims, petty cash, and company credit card reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Providing cover and support across accounts payable during periods of leave, including processing purchase invoices and handling supplier queries
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Receivable, or similar finance role
- A good understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles
- Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Lookups
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and accuracy
- A proactive, positive approach and the ability to work well within a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using SAP (advantageous but not essential)
