Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting a Health & Safety Manager with a background in Engineering & Utilities to join a growing and diversifying business. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring robust engineering and utilities safety systems are in place to protect employees, contractors and visitors from the risks associated with complex plant, infrastructure, utilities networks, maintenance operations and high-hazard environments.
Working closely with senior leaders, operational managers and engineering teams, you will help drive best practice, legal compliance and continual improvement across our utilities and engineering operations nationwide. Implement asset integrity controls, maintenance safety management systems and technical risk reduction measures. Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and all relevant utilities, engineering and health & safety legislation. Maintain legal compliance in areas including PUWER, LOLER, PSSR, electrical safety, confined spaces, isolations and management of change.
Develop and deliver SHEQ improvement plans focused on utilities assets, equipment reliability and high-risk engineering activities. Provide practical technical safety support across fixed plant, mobile plant, utility distribution systems and process environments. Strong knowledge of engineering and utilities hazards including mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, pressure systems, heavy plant and automated equipment. Significant experience in sectors such as utilities, water, construction, energy and industrial services.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification. Additional knowledge of PSSR, PUWER, CDM Regulations, process safety or electrical safety would be advantageous. Experience supporting engineering projects, contractor management and modification works.
