We are currently supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their busy team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while managing a varied client portfolio and contributing to the continued growth of the firm. You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to clients, while also supporting and mentoring junior team members. The business offers a supportive environment with clear opportunities for progression and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
- Preparing and reviewing complex statutory accounts for a range of businesses
- Producing and reviewing interim management accounts
- Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns
- Preparing and reviewing partnership accounts and tax returns
- Reviewing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Supporting with forecasts and business projections where required
- Attending client meetings and building strong relationships with directors and business owners
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, including allocating work where appropriate
- Identifying opportunities to support business growth, including cross-service referrals
- Working alongside senior leadership to support the firm’s long-term development
- Ensuring compliance requirements are met and that clients receive a consistently high level of service
The successful candidate will be someone who is organised, proactive and confident when working with both clients and colleagues. You will be comfortable managing your own workload and motivated to continue progressing your career within practice.
Qualifications:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or finalist) with experience working within accountancy practice
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients
- Strong IT skills including Office 365 and accounting software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks
- Confident managing a mixed portfolio across accounts, tax and advisory work
- Previous client-facing experience would be beneficial
